Encounters DVD

Encounters is a pastoral care DVD resource for Elders, pastoral visitors and all who are involved in the pastoral life of their local congregation.

Each of the six episodes has been created in the form of a short documentary, to stimulate thinking, allow group discussion and help to answer the question: "How can we as a local congregation develop good practice, in Christ's name, as we encounter people in various stiuations of pastoral need?"

Episodes:

1.  Care Teams:  how two congregations have developed new models for pastoral care.

2.  Dementia:  stories of people living with dementia.

3.  Learning Disability:  the church's engagement in welcome, hospitality and worship.

4.  Life Limiting Illness:  the pastoral care of terminal illness.

5.  Young People:  stories and examples of the pastoral care of young people.

6.  In Hospital:  good practice for visiting children and young people in hospital.

As part of this resource, a workbook gives extra information for discussion, along with discussion-starter questions.  This allows Encounters to be an ideal resource for Kirk Sessions, small group discussions, house groups and pastoral care teams.
