Seeds & Roots DVD

The Mission & Discipleship and Ministries Councils of the Church of Scotland have been supporting a few fragile experiments in new models of church over the past couple of years.  The Emerging Ministries Task Group regularly sifts through and assesses applications to the Emerging Ministries Fund, and there are now almost 30 new models - or fresh expressions - of church around the country, from Stornoway, Skye and Inverness to Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Annan and the Borders.

This inspirational DVD tells the stories of seven of these new models of church.  They would be the first to say they do not have all the answers!  Most of these experiments, as you will see, are not quite what we generally recognise as church yet.  But the missional instinct of these pioneers is driving them on to plant new expressions of church in areas and among networks not presently being reached by our churches.

You can use this resource in a variety of ways:  with discussion starters included, it can be used with a Kirk Session, Bible Study Group or other small groups to see if they might feel called to consider a new expression of church where you are.  It can also be shown in worship or in other public meetings simply to raise awareness of this important agenda for today, to inform and to encourage those who are interested in one of the ways God's Spirit is moving in our land.
